Portlock License Manager: Limitations

  1. When running Portlock License Manager on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008, dragging files from an application running at a lower privilege cannot drop files to an application running at a higher privilege.
  2. VHD support is disabled when running Portlock License Manager from user mode. The program must be launched with administrator rights in order for VHD support to be enabled. Users running Portlock License Manager with user rights must go to File › relaunch program with admin rights and then File › Properties › VHD Support.
  3. Attaching and detaching VHDs is unsupported in Windows XP and Windows Vista, although some VHD management features are still available. Windows 7 is the only platform that supports mounting and dismounting VHDs.
  4. Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) is required for WIM support unless running on Windows 7.
  5. Java 1.06.13 or later is required for Portlock License Manager to display certain websites that use Java technology.
  6. Windows 7 BETA and RC are unsupported. Please use Windows 7 RTM.
  7. After the mount or dismount WIM process begins, the option to "cancel" is unavailable.
  8. The Novell Client cannot be installed on a 64-bit version of Windows 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000. This disables Portlock License Manager's NetWare server management capabilities.
