IMAGEMGR.NLM from older versions of Portlock Storage Manager would abend the server if IMAGEMGR.NLM from 3.36 autoloaded PORTLOCK.NLM from version 4.x. 2) Change the -imageftp command line option to support filenames longer than 16 characters. The maximum length is now 127 characters 3) Support long filenames for the -logfile command line option. 4) No longer converts -logfile file name to uppercase. 5) No longer converts -imagefile file name to uppercase. 6) Added a new command line option to disable checking for Duplicate Partition IDs: -NoCheckPartitionIDs 7) Added a new command line option -image_pool=pool_name This command line option causes unspecified pools to be skipped. Note: -image_pool can be used up to 16 times. ********************************************************************** Bugs Fixed: ********************************************************************** 1) Removed the warning that POWPATH.CDM was not supported. In verion 4.00, EMC's Multipathing support was added to Portlock Storage Manager but the warning was not removed. 2) Buffer overrun was being reported in the tape changer code, when there really was not a buffer overrun. 3) Fixed an issue where the command line option -snapshot is no longer ignored. 4) Fixed an issue where a buffer overrun was being reported for tape changers. 5) Fixed an issue with Online Pool Imaging. In the dialog box to select the snapshot pool, if ESC is pressed instead of selecting a pool, the server would abend. Note: this issue only existed in the beta version and not in the production release. ********************************************************************** Notes: ********************************************************************** 1) MEGA4_XX.HAM drivers. The 6.x version of these drivers have a problem in the interrupt code. If used with Portlock Storage Manager the server will abend. Use version 3.09 or 7.0.4 or later of these drivers. The PEDGE2.HAM and PEDGE3.HAM are Dell versions of this driver. ********************************************************************** Known Limitation in this version: ********************************************************************** Most of these limitations will be removed in future releases of Portlock Storage Manager. Check our web site, as we often release improved versions of Storage Manager. http://www.portlock.com ********************************************************************** Limitations for all versions of NetWare: ********************************************************************** 1) NetWare Cluster Services is not supported. You will need to stop Novell Cluster Services before modifying Partitions / Pools. 2) Portlock Storage Manager can image partitions in an Extended DOS partition. However, these partitions can only be restored as Primary partitions and not restored into Extended DOS partitions. 3) HP DVD 300i. The Storage Manager DVD format command does not work with this model. Until we fix this, insert formatted DVD media. The HP Windows tools will format DVDs or have the Windows tools write anything to the DVD and will force a format. 4) DOS partitions cannot be resized in-place. DOS partitions can be resized during a partition copy. 5) DOS partitions cannot be resized during a restore. 6) Cannot restore an image from a Mac OS X FTP Server. This FTP server does not like absolute paths in the FTP SIZE command. ********************************************************************** Limitations for NetWare 5.x: ********************************************************************** 1) Early versions of NSS are not supported. The minimum requirement is NetWare 5.0 SP4. 2) For NSS versions earlier than version 2.97 (NetWare 5.1 SP3), the server sometimes needs to be rebooted to see NSS partitions created with Storage Manager. There is a partition re-scanning bug with NetWare that was fixed in NW51 SP3. 3) The image command can image an NSS multi-segment Storage Group volume. The restore command can only restore this NSS volume as a single segment. Storage Manager will convert the multi-segment volume into a single segment volume during the restore. 4) The NSS volume resize command cannot resize a Storage Group volume. 5) The NSS volume resize command cannot resize NSS volumes smaller. However, NSS Volume Copy, NSS Volume Restore and NSS Partition Convert commands support resizing NSS volumes smaller. 6) NetWare 5 NSS mirroring is not supported. Traditional partition mirroring is supported. 7) Portlock Storage Manager does not support NSS volumes created inside a Traditional NetWare volume. 8) When copying a NSS Non-Storage Group Partition to a new Non-Storage Group partition, resizing the volume smaller during the copy is not supported. Copy the partition to a Storage Group to enable resizing the partition smaller during the copy. 9) When copying an NSS Non-Storage Group Volume to a new Non-Storage Group Volume, resizing the volume smaller during the copy is not supported. Copy the partition to a Storage Group to enable resizing the volume smaller during the copy. 10) Portlock Storage Manager cannot move the starting position of an NSS partition. 11) NSS Storage Group Partition Copy is not supported. The current workaround is to copy the individual NSS volumes using the Volume Copy command. ********************************************************************** Limitations for NetWare 6.0: ********************************************************************** 1) The Resize Pool command does not support multi-segment pools. 2) The Resize Pool command does not support resizing pools smaller. 3) The Copy Pool command does not support copying pools smaller. However, the Copy Volume command does support volume copy to a smaller pool. 4) The Move Pool command does not support moving pools and reducing their size during the move. 5) Cannot resize a NetWare Master Partition. 6) Cannot resize NetWare Traditional partitions located within a NetWare Master Partition. 7) Cannot resize NetWare NSS partitions located within a NetWare Master Partition. Use the Pool Resize command instead. 8) Cannot resize a NetWare 6 volume within a Pool. Use Novell's NSSMU to change the Quota for this type of volume. ********************************************************************** Limitations for NetWare 6.5: ********************************************************************** 1) USB Storage devices are not supported. 2) Software RAID-5 is not supported. 3) The Resize Pool command does not support multi-segment pools. 4) The Resize Pool command does not support resizing pools smaller. 5) The Copy Pool command does not support copying pools smaller. However, the Copy Volume command does support volume copy to a smaller pool. 6) The Move Pool command does not support moving pools and reducing their size during the move. 7) Cannot resize a NetWare Master Partition. 8) Cannot resize NetWare Traditional partitions located within a NetWare Master Partition. 9) Cannot resize NetWare NSS partitions located within a NetWare Master Partition. Use the Pool Resize command instead. 10) Cannot resize a NetWare 6 volume within a Pool. Use Novell's NSSMU to change the Quota for this type of volume. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What's New in Release 4.00 (March-01-2007) ********************************************************************** New Features: ********************************************************************** This is the first release of version 4.0. ********************************************************************** Misc Features: ********************************************************************** This is the first release of version 4.0. ********************************************************************** Bugs Fixed: ********************************************************************** This is the first release of version 4.0. ********************************************************************** Notes: ********************************************************************** 1) MEGA4_XX.HAM drivers.
